Once upon a time there was a beautiful Queen named D. Scott who was given the gift of music. She could paint pictures using melodies as a brush, spit flames using only rhymes as firewood, and cast hypnotic spells using any instrument as her wand. While she possessed some training of her skills, much of her talent was raw and unbridled, which limited the strength of her abilities much to her chagrin.
However, unbeknownst to D. Scott, nearby lay the Queendom of I’ve Got Entertainment, which was ruled by Queen Renee Ochoa and Queen Emily O’Neill. Renee was bestowed with the gift of insight and healing. Her eyes could see deep into people’s souls to the part of themselves that holds them captive and prescribe them a plan that would unlock the full potential of their unique ability. Emily had been granted the gift of diplomacy. Her tongue could weave words of silk that would bring the most heated wars to peace and resolution. Together, Renee and Emily had determined to change the world through the power of music by discovering the gifted and, through rigorous training, developing them into artists.
Having heard of D. Scott, Renee went to witness a performance, after which she and Emily welcomed D. Scott into their Queendom and agreed to guide her. And so the preparation began - teaching D how to wield her pen with the deftness of a swordsman, to rule the realm of the stage with strength and to sharpen the edge in her sound. They challenged her to open her mind to reach a greater depth of art and to believe in the magic of her expressive gift of creation. These queens then searched the land for a knighthood of kindred prowess who were gifted in the wizardry of breathing life into song, imbuing it with the rebellion of rock and roll, the howl of the blues, the savor of soul, and the electricity of funk. From many skilled prospects a few were chosen who were poetic marksmen in their craft and who embraced the music with passion and the continual fresh perspective of a curious child.
Queen Renee named them D. Scott & The Family: architects of a new sound dubbed The Urban Motown, the place in music where the roots of the live band meets the flavor of old-school hip-hop and R&B. Now armed with their upcoming debut single, “Queenâ€, D. Scott & The Family are ushering in the genesis of a fresh genre and together with I’ve Got Entertainment, they are rewriting the story of music…one song at a time.
