About Me

Created with mySpace Profile EditorCartersville is a city in Bartow County, Georgia, in the United States. It was named after Col. Farrish Carter. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 15,925. Growth is evident as the community's population rose to 21,274 as of the 2005 census. Although un-official, Cartersville will most-likely become a micropolitan area in 2007.

My Interests

Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown graduated from Cartersville High School. Cartersville is home to the Miss Georgia USA and Miss Georgia Teen USA. [1] Cartersville is home to the world's first outdoor painted advertisement of the Coca-Cola brand. In 1894 a syrup salesman painted "Drink Coca Cola" on the side of what is now Young Brothers Pharmacy in old downtown. It was found under multiple layers of paint during restoration on the building. In 1994 the Coca-Cola company authenticated the wall advertisement as the world's first.[2] In the story of the movie Big Momma's House, most of the action happens in Cartersville. The film was, however, shot in Orange, California. Cartersville was the hometown of actor Wayne Knight, Newman from Seinfeld. Singer/Songwriter/Producer Butch Walker grew up in Cartersville and references it in the song "Get Down". Country music singer Cledus T. Judd is also from Cartersville and a graduate of Cartersville High. Birthplace and home of the first African-American Georgia Supreme Court Judge, the Honorable Judge Robert Benham. Home of Gov. Joe Frank Harris
