"Life is short, it's up to you too make it sweet! Live Fit!"My name is Suhalia Madison, which means “gentle starâ€. I am a Vietnamese, Chinese, and Cambodian. I was adopted into a family which was not of my own culture but were African American descent. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. My life has been one of adventure and great desire. My family has always been supportive in whatever I did, they always let me have the freedom to choose but always wished I just pick one. But, that’s definitely not the case.Ever since I was a little kid all I did was perform and flip around like Mary Lou Retton. I sang in various gospel choirs and was active in many sports and performing arts activities at a local park district called Pulaski Park. All of my musical and sports related endeavors began there. My competition experience stems back to various beauty pageants such as the Miss American Teen, Miss Divine and Miss Star pageants in Chicago. I have competed in several dance competitions and singing competitions. Throughout my younger years I was a competitive gymnast for the United Stated Gymnastics Federation Elite Team. I competed on a national level until hurting my knee, thereafter, my Olympic dreams was put on hold but I continued to pursue those goals in high school along with playing volleyball and writing for our school publication. Outside of school I ran track & field and specialized in high jump. I also danced for the Fischer Dance Center, was a UCA Cheerleader and took part in TeenStreet Theater Company’s Production of BoOom that traveled to Germany to perform. I can say that I am a young lady of many crafts, but my greatest satisfaction is that at a young age I found that special something I love to do which is to be out in front of a crowd and perform.Later I attended the University of Illinois at Champaign, Urbana. My major was to be in Broadcast Journalism. I didn’t finish, but all in all life had something great in store for me. Later that year I entered into the fabulous world of fitness. I began in July of 1999 and competed in my first Fitness America competition within the same month and placed fourth in Waukesha, Wis. Following that show I competed in the Fitness America Nationals and placed 20th out of 101 girls all over the world. This truly was an amazing experience for me because it was all so new . I was the youngest competitor there, being only 19 yrs of age at that time. I then qualified to the Fitness Universe Pageant in New York City in 2000 and placed 20th again ,and now competing amongst all the top competitors in the world. I literally competed in 3 shows back to back, making it a truly awesome experience. After that, I packed my bags and switched it up a bit and pursued a musical career with my girls from Atlanta. I sang in a girls pop group called "Ella Bella." I've truly made my vocation my vacation. My family and friends are thrilled that I am pursuing my dreams because they have seen me climb trees and hop around like a bunny forever and sing and perform to my hearts content. I’d like to say that I have been very blessed within my life and there are very special people who have made my life as incredible as it can ever be and without them life would not be possible. Here`s a little something to think about.......I am a woman of strength, courage and wisdom. I perpetuate light so inturn that is what I receive. REAL TALK! I am blessed! "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength."
What truly makes a difference in life is the way you choose to think, to feel and to act. What truly makes a difference is what you decide to do with it all. All the other things, while they can be useful, rich and interesting, are secondary concerns. What matters most is how you decide to approach and to live this precious life with which you are blessed.Get Your Own! | View SlideshowWelcome to Star Energy Fitness! BE FIT FOR LIFE!
