A little about me...
I live in a small hamlet (?) in New England with my girlfriend Mary and our English Bulldog Bella. If you like slobber on your clothes, invaded personal space and chewed up shoes, you'll love Bella. I think her greatest charm is that she, technically, really isn't a dog at all... More of a force of nature with a squishy face and a mean underbite. She is full of love though, and despite a few minor character flaws I really do adore her. She may be the worlds greatest cuddler, and is all to happy to push me into a corner on the bed while her mom is busy with work.
Mary is, in not so many words, my better half. She may be one of the smartest, most luminous, and strongly willed person that I've ever known. Everyday is a learning experience, and while at times may be painful (the ego is a fragile thing...) I've never felt so challenged nor cherished by another person. She is my spiritual advisor, my intellectual mentor, my cheering section through life's challenges, and one of my best friends. Both she and her family are native to the area, and I haven't met their parallel in warmth and compassion. They have been infinitely supportive in my transition to my new home across the country, and I care for them deeply. Besides, they're great fun.
Recently, I've been expanding my personal repertoire by keeping busy with my work. Aside from creating music and my art, I have finally landed not one, but two of my dream jobs! I'm cheffing at this really fantastic Bistro that lets me create my own menu, and has a warm and diverse staff of really colorful characters. I'm also moonlighting for this world-class custom tattoo parlor in Easthampton, Off the Map Tattoo, where I'm able to challenge the administrative side of my personality. It's an amazing little community that I've fallen into, and feel truly blessed to have found it at this point in my life.
And a bit of personal history...
I grew up in a wee town on the North Coast of California. It was here that I began my lifelong romance with the Natural World. I spent my adolescent years skateboarding, listening to old-skool punk, drawing, and going to shows. Once upon a time I was a rehab/behavioral therapist, Iron Chef (suffer!), and co-founder (along Abe Ray and Thoren Vadala) of the most amazing youth endeavor in history- the Placebo! Now days, I play music full-time and when not conquering the world I try my hand at art, writing, running and various other forms of creative expression. I also really enjoy reading. Everything from history, pop-culture, global economics, science fact (or was it fiction?) to art and philosophy is fair game. I also pride myself on the ability to recite "Spaceballs" lines spontaneously and pretty much verbatum. I may come across as a bit sarcastic, but know that it's all in good intention and don't take it too personally. If you can't find me, I'm usually taking a nap in the back of the van. Just knock twice and have some Sailor Jerry's on hand. I'm a pretty nice guy, so feel free to say hello. Cheers!
