I never expected to end up in NJ. A short history of events related to why I'm here is as follows:
-
2004 - Graduated from the University of Michigan (BS Electrical Engineering)
2005 - Lived and worked in Columbus, OH for an OEM automotive company.
2007 - Had a lucrative offer in NJ which allowed my return to the nuclear power industry.
2007 - Moved to Seaside Heights, NJ
2008 - Got a rediculou$ deal on a house in Manahawkin, NJ
2008 - Started my MBA (online) through the University of Michigan.
I do a lot of stuff outside my day job. If one looks up my covestor.com account above, I obviously have an active stock trading performance record that puts most fund managers to shame. Someday I may decide to take trading full time. I also run 2 start up companies, one of which operates under an LLC here in NJ.
Financially I'm probably one of the most stable 26 year olds one could meet. I was hoping to make 6 figures at 25, it took an extra 4 months longer than planned. Oh well. I've done everything by myself without much help, guidance or even support. I've had to make a lot of tough decisions and moves to get where I am. I have no debt and manage my money very well. Nearly everything in my life is really coming together. All I need now is to maintain what I've built. My realistic goals within the next 4 years are to meet new friends/babes, stay healthy, maintain meaningful employment, complete my MBA and be trading with at least $500k.
Visitors at my new house are welcome and encouraged to come. I have books on a bagillion things to do here, Atlantic City, Philly and up in NYC. I don't get out much. If I'm not at work, I'm at home, jogging on the beach, at the gym or wandering around Lowes. I don't really know people around here. That and it's hard for me to meet really compatible people. I think people see me as too crazy for some, then I feel too smart to connect with others on anything more than a slapstick comedy level. Maybe I expect too much out of people. I've been up and out more in Manhattan than locally. I'm a city person but a fan of being outdoors and relatively quiet situations. Bars are lame. I'd rather have a bath tub party in my gigantic soaker. I'm taking up surfing soon. I'd rather go on tour of a worm farm with good company than go to a "club". I've got enough dumb drunk photos . Yes we all have them, yes mine are way, way better. ;)
One thing to note, I'm extremely sarcastic. NJ... drop the apprehensive BS. It's lame. Everyone in NJ seems to think they're that one extreme out lier on the bell curve. Be realistic. If you're working at Wawa, only have graduated high school, living at home and leech of your rents.... be realistic. Just because one goes to the grocery store wearing an outfit one would expect to only see in the club doesn't put themselves in some VIP class.
Congratulations if you've made it this far in my ramblings.
