Shrinking Violet

About Me

1997. Shrinking Violet started out like all bands...in the garage, chock full o' atitude, and ready to save Tampa's Rock n Roll soul. The original lineup consisted of Anthony Parrulli - Drums, Christos Sarantos - Bass, Matthew Stitt - Vocals & Guitar, Pete Urso - Vocals & Guitar. The band began playing regularly around the Tampa Bay area and even recorded a couple of songs that will forever be lost into obscurity. Early 1998. Pete left the group and the band continued on as a three piece made up of Anthony, Christos and Matt. Later on that year Ryan Rayhill put in his two cents on guitar and the group set out to record a three song demo. 1999. The group got the itchin to record a full length LP and began the process that March at Panda Studios in Clearwater, FL. During that time the group continued playing around the area, but opportunity would put things on hold for another two years. Anthony was offered a position with the theatrical production Blue Man Group and was cast as one of the Blue Men for their Las Vegas production. 2001. Still determined to finish what they had started, the group gathered again at the studio and resumed recording that March. With the band members quickly moving apart to seperate areas of the U.S. and to the U.K. the record was finally completed that November.
