About Me
From the heart, to the mind, to the pen, Singer/Songwriter, Kehau, has been creating music most of her life. The child of a musician, who is also the child of a musician, she carries the legacy of a family birthed in music. Picking up her first guitar at five years of age, she began her journey into a world that would allow her to explore the depths of her soul.A graduate of Los Angeles based, Dick Grove School Of Music and Musicians Institute, Kehau honed her skills as a musician and quickly started her career in LA backing other artists as a background singer, songwriter, and keyboard/guitar player. She has shared the stage and studio with some of the best studio/touring musicians Los Angeles has to offer, including Carmen Grillo, (Tower Of Power), Herman Matthews, (Tower Of Power, Kenny Loggins), Jeff “Skunk†Baxter, (Doobie Brothers), Ken Stacey, (Elton John), Mark Browne, (Paula Cole, Melissa Etheridge), Dave Byer, (Melissa Etheridge), Roberto Vally, (Randy Crawford), and many more. After realizing her desire to step out from the shadows, Kehau fronted her own project and recorded two CD’s of tunes she penned. Co-producing both CD’s with friend, Carmen Grillo, she spent several years touring and promoting both recordings. In 2001, she left Los Angeles in search of something different for herself and her music. Finding her home in California’s North Bay, Kehau has created a musical partnership with Arranger/Musician, Tim Haggerty. Together with Haggerty and on her own, Kehau has found her place in Northern California and Northern California has found her. Known and respected as a soulful singer with a captivating stage presence, she has claimed her spot as one of the North Bay’s leading vocalists.Currently in the studio working on several projects, Kehau is gearing up for what looks to be a busy 2009/2010 of live performances.
