Matthew Currie

After picking up a guitar for the first time at 17, within months i wanted to record and write more than play other peoples songs. Soon after i got an 8-track and started laying down all my ideas. I instantly wanted to create structured songs, to create many different sounds on each song. Initially using my guitar to recreate synthesized sounds to compliment, and form the forefront of my music. I make music as it is one of the most enjoyable things i can do, particulary writing and recording, the process of recording music is one im very interested, i record on a variety of medias, both analogue cassette and reel to reel, and digital, but i have not yet wanted to try computer recording! I now use a variety of instruments from synthesizers, samplers and drum machines, to pianos, guitars, voice and percusion, all accompanied with an array of effects to further push the popssibilities of what music can be. I aim to create original music that i feel is of a deemable worth, that it should be heard by others, music that i am proud of and believe is wothwhile. Inspiration from many others things including other music forms a large basis of much of my music, inspiration to create better and improved music each time i write and record. Whether playing in my/a band, or by myself i never invisage myself not making music in some form or another.
