"WE KNOW KARATE" is a collaboration of friends from within the Northeast Ohio (Akron to be more specific) music scene. All four members have been long time acquaintances who have come to find themselves sharing the stage together after years of performing with other groups that have sprouted from the Summit County based metropolis. Though long time friends, both individually and as bands that were (at the time) the current projects of contributing members of W.K.K., this quartet was started as a side project of all the founding members.
Michael James and Charles Miller, both from 'Disgust For the Weak' , an Akron based hardcore/neometal band, met up with Raymond Weahry, drummer of 'Friends Back East', an Akron based punk rock band. They decided to start up an alternative/indie style group. Michael then approached Dustin Konig, former guitarist/vocalist for Avenging Ellis, about doing vocals and filling the second guitarist role they were looking for. Without needing to say, Konig accepted and the four started working together in July of 2008.
After 5 months of relentlessly writing, recording, live performances and just dedicating every free instant to the group, Weahry left the band in December of 2008. Shortly after, the role of the drummer was filled by Joseph Wallman.
Wallman rooted from the groups 'Clemens' and 'D.F.T.W.' and has been with W.K.K. ever since December 2008. And the rest continues to be written....
