Soul in Isolation was founded in 1992 in Nürnberg, Germany. The name is taken from a song of The Chameleons and became for the band like an interpretation of ‘Endeavour of the Inner self’, achievable through a ‘Self chosen Isolation’. Influenced by the dark-wave movement from 1980-ies and inspired by the Arthur epic, and writers like Hermann Hesse and Novalis, the existence of Soul in Isolation gave the singer Dave Scrag and the guitarist/keyboard player Robert Tale. Their first concert took place in Voice discotheque in Schwabach and was really successful. In 1993 the band signed an agreement with the label Gymnastic/ClassX-Records (known today as Chrom Records) and released their debut album ‘On Stranger Tides’. The album received positive critics from medias like Zillo and was compared to the music of Deine Lakaien. Just a short time later Zillo gave a whole article for the band and appraised them with ‘a new promising duet from the Dark-Wave sky’. In 1994 followed a mini-CD ‘Black days in heaven’. Their coming songs appeared out of different compilations, among which ‘Evelyn’ and a cover version of The Sisters of Mercy's hit ‘Marian’. In 1996 the band had several concerts in Europe, like in Dynamo-Club in Zürich together with Still Patient and The Tors of Dartmoor. Soul in Isolation is now working on new songs and a tour is on its way.EPs: 1993: On Stranger Tides (CD) 1994: Black Days in Heaven (Mini-CD)Compilations: 1994: „Evelyn“ auf We Came To Dance - Indie Dancefloor Vol. VI (CD) 1995: „Marian“ auf Gothic Compilation Part IV (CD) 1995: „Marian“ auf Monochrome - A Tribute To The Sisters Of Mercy (CD) 1995: „Heaven“ auf Gymnastic Label Compilation 1991-1995 (CD, Promo)
