About Me

DOLLY re MIXTURE is a brand new cabaret night the like of which Hitchin has never seen!. featuring international burlesque stars, comedians, magicians and bands, a seriously trashy resident DJ, alternative merchandise stalls, even a ridiculous drinking game! Remix nightclub is the perfect venue for it and Paul B. Edwards is the perfect host (Although he would say that - he wrote this).
It takes place at REMIX nightclub, Hermitage Road, Hitchin, Herts and advance tickets are generally available in Helen Rochfort Shop (Bancroft) and Nearly Orange (Ickleford Road). Do some research to find them - I'm not your mother.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ARRIVE EARLY AS THE SHOW HAS TO START AT 8PM PROMPT!
Our first show featured Miss Zara Ann, Miss Frankii Wilde, Dan Rogerson, Paul Harry Allen and Dr. Dawson's Boogie Band. Roch was on the decks and Paulyb & Dying inside were way too silly to really be allowed to get away with it. Lee Smith fumbled around with ladies quite a bit.
Here's Paulyb introducing it...
...Our second show featured Fifi Fatale fan dancing around, Slinky Sparkles handing out sweeties, Devilish Presley showcasing their new album, Dying Inside nailing "Rocksteady Crew", Paul Coombes chopping heads off, Kevin Shepherd laughing heads off and Paulyb exposing nipple - Yoinks!
Our third show was perfect! Dolly Rose and Lena Mae were enchanting, Gavin Inskip and Louise Scodie were entertaining, Dave Lindill was mystifying, Roch played "Destination Zululand" (Whoopee!), Dying inside explored toe jam to great effect, Maxwell, Hammer & Smith Queened it up, everybody looked splendid and Paulyb had the best shoes!
Our 4th show featured Jubilee Swoon trumpeting burlesque, Paul Ricketts breaking down comedy sterotypes, Pavabotti being, well, Pavabotti (!), Dan Rogerson showing that ANYONE can do brilliant magic (!!), Verity Welch proving headmistresses have potty mouths, Roch being his usual brilliant self, Dying Inside excelling on all counts, The Pistols bring ing back the late 70s to Remix and Paulyb holding the hold thing together with his consummate crapocracy!
Our Fifth show saw the brilliant Trailer Trash Orchestra headline AND take over house band duties, Tim Shoesmith be accused of witchcraft, Imajica delight, Trixie Rose tease, Ryan Macdonell and Joel Dommett ribtickle, Lee Smith bamboozle, Paulyb outdrink (!) and DJ Roch inspire. Ground was broken, formats were altered and friendships were cemented. Perfect.

Our sixth show featured John Soffe and mackenzie Taylor making us laugh out loud, Steve Dean providing mental torture, Darkteaser and Emerald Ace lifting up our gearts (And dumb bells), Lee Smith bamboozling, Roch getting our feet tapping, Paulyb keeping us drinking and The Zeroes getting us ALL dancing!
Our 7th show saw the debut of new house band "Semi Detached", great comedy from David Whitney and Ross Ashcroft, sexy dancing ladies Rose Thorne and Slinky Sparkles driving us wild, The Debut magical majesty of The Great Sebastiano, another mindblowing set from Maxwell, Hammer & Smith, The luxury of DJ Roch, Lee Smith unsettling people with his dirty tricks, Paulyb staying remarkably sober and Nat the evil Lesbian completely stealing the show.
Show no. 8 featured Lord Bishop Rocks! sexing up the entire audience, the beautiful (And voluptuous) Duchess Divine, terrific and sexy VJ Spankie, cute and magical Careena Fenton, the hilarious Nat Luurtsema, the mental Harriet Bowden, Semi Detached and their shambolic best, Roch as amazing as ever and the usual nonsense from Paulyb and Lee. Nat The Evil Lesbian stole it though...
