Success is the meeting of Preparation and Opportunity.

About Me

Hey Welcome & Greetings! My name is Stephane David and I am the author of: www.topincomenz.com

I would love to find like minded people who believe that there is more to it than our daily grind in life and that we can stretch and reach the success we want and deserve out of life. We all have limited time on the planet so we may as well make the most of it all!! These are my core values and I apply them to all areas of my life, but before I touch on that, let me quickly go over where things are at for me.

I have fulfilled part of what I’m looking for in that I have a family (my invaluable inner circle), a lifestyle, doing stuff from home on the internet and spending my time as I want. Above all, I have managed to get myself out of my previous life…

So what was I like not so long ago and why have I got this positive outlook for the future?
Although I do not believe I’m any smarter than the average Jo Blog, I know I have a driving force pushing me an inch forward every day!

Why? Well here it goes…

I have spent the first 25 years of my life in Paris, brought up by divorced parents, living in an apartment block, confined in the typical urban environment many (too many) millions of people experience everyday. Looking back I guess things were OK, it is all I knew and was conditioned like many around me to get some education, like a degree, go to work for a boss and live on the treadmill. It is the lifestyle I was raised in and it was OK.

Being a lonely child, 20 years or so ago, I remember a thought that I had and that was I knew one day I would have the things, lifestyle and family I was dreaming about. I had obviously no idea about the “how” but I was simply optimistic and it made me feel good to think of these good thoughts. I guess as children, we all have that kind of wishes and dreams running through our heads. It is not until years later, that I came to realise that I must have been born an optimistic. Fortunately, I can say I have a natural tendency to see the positive side of things, but not always though!

My relationships and accomplishments have never been great, why? Well I guess I was living on auto-pilot, believing in coincidences and also hoping that good things would fall into my life, just like a miracle. I do not enjoy looking back at those days. But I knew I was doing the right thing not giving up on my visions.

I was fortunate to have my dad take me with him on his business trips. He’s always told me “To travel is to move forward”. I did not realise what he really meant by that but was always enjoying being with him, going places, somewhere different. I have always enjoyed going places, getting exposed to different cultures. That is how I happened to really enjoy learning and speaking English for example. Thank goodness I did not solely rely on the kind of rubbish they were teaching at school!

Sadly my dad no longer travels although he has retired recently. It is a mystery to me, particularly now that he has all the time available…

All that time with my dad really is at the origin of the confidence I now have in myself

However, how many times have I had these negative thoughts running through my mind, this voice holding you back “no you can’t do this or that etc…”It is interesting to note that based on the way we live, we keep having this negative energy even if we know it is distracting our future, not adding to it.

Don’t you think that even if you decide you are going to have a great day, you still have to struggle and deal with the unconstructive stuff? And we are doing it to ourselves. Sure enough, we may be influenced by the outside world such as the news etc… It is amazing to see how easily we can be prone and drawn towards unenthusiastic matter. I guess we deal with it and have a couple of basic choices to make, accept it and feel miserable or decide to be worth better than this and go forward!

I refused to listen to my weak thoughts and decided to hammer at my projects and make things happen!!

Now that I have seen the four corners of the globe and fell in love with New Zealand, I have settled over there and established a much better life.

I knew for a long time that I wanted to get away, boy have I gone far and away from my home land, my old life and my old me! Also I always wanted to be somewhere close to the shore. After all, I hated to only see the ocean once or twice a year if I was lucky. Fortunately, our trips with dad were excellent getaways but they also were acting as enticements, like teasers, particularly upon returning home…

Career wise, I am now working from home, part time, earning more than my last corporate full time role as a Software Project Manager. Needless to say this has been a significant milestone for me. Reflecting on it, you could say it is some form of achievement but I believe it is only a beginning.

If you make the effort to better yourself and you keep doing it, it becomes a habit. Therefore it becomes part of your new you.

It is like to manage to go to the gym beyond a year after you joined! How many people join up and quit, and not just at the local gym, but at many other different things, like a diet after New Year’s Eve right?!

Well if you go to the gym over and over again, it actually becomes a habit, it has become a part of your life and it is when you do not go the gym that you feel there is something not quite right going on! So, in all of things I wanted for my life, lifestyle was one of them.

So great, but where to from now??

Since I cemented the foundation of my goals, my phase now is a growing and expansion phase. To be able to reach this milestone, I’ve had invaluable help from other people and I’m still getting it to this day. I’m grateful for my business mentors to have invested their time, philosophies and advice back into me. Why back into me? Simply because they invest back in others what they received from people who attracted success before them.

Now that I know I’m going down the right track in terms of all the goals I want to achieve, I’m in a position to return the favour and happily invest into others and pass on all the good values and skills that I have learnt, for the benefit of people.

Oh sure enough, just like anybody, I have also had my hurdles and failures, but that is part of our learning curve. I hope by the way that you are familiar with the idea that there is an opportunity to learn from any situation. In fact, if you listen carefully around you, you will hear, just like me, that you learn more from your failures than your successful efforts. Although I have to say the former is far more painful than the latter! Things are not always easy and honky dory, that is just the way it is.

That is why when we are in a strong position to lead others; we feel this fulfilling and exciting need to help others in return. In fact, it is natural law of survival that says that people in the community must help and support others in need. By the way, don't let geography or language stand in your way!

What I am doing doesn't just work for those who are next to me but WORLD WIDE.

Nothing can physically stand in the way of your desires. The learning and growth experience come from you, forget the rest!!

No one else but you can do it for yourself. You see, you can not attract an experience or success for anybody else, but you, so boundaries and languages are just self invented obstacles.

You are the only person really in charge.

You are the only person really in charge of your situation in this world. I like to take ownership and responsibility and think of myself as CEO of Stephane David Incorporated! Where ever you are now in your life, it is the result of your passed actions and decisions. You can at any time change direction and work towards you desired changes and goals and therefore change the course of your ship.

You have a choice in your everyday life….

You can either choose to move forward or backward. You can not stand still.

A river can not stand still, otherwise it putrefies right? Moreover, one day that passes is one less day we have to live! Yet, we tend to forget some of these amazingly simple principles that affect our lives.

We are presented with plenty of opportunities to learn something new everyday. We are introduced to lots of ways to grow, in minute steps so long as we apply ourselves consistently. In fact, I believe we even get to learn even in our sleep. Why? Well, just because our subconscious mind, reorganises and classifies our experiences, thoughts of the day. We are bombarded with masses of information every minute.

We are aware of 2000 thoughts when in reality our brain trims through 400 billion (with a B) thoughts a day.

Don’t you think there is enough opportunity and exposure to learn anything with that sort of volume?

So here is my approach and I wish to meet with people who resonate with a similar mentality

For the last 3-4 years now, I managed to get rid off my paid employments and to focus more on myself and my inner circle. As a direct result, I have found the most fulfilling relationships.

There is so much you can take from this world, you do not need to know how. People have not yet even scratched the surface of what they could really have. Abundance is accessible for absolutely anybody. The tragedy now is that not everybody is aware of it. As Bob Proctor says, some people do not even know that they do not know!

So if you have tried many different things up until now or if you are asking yourself all these questions or if you feel you want to take the next move or if you’ve all of a sudden realised all this, it is OK. It is only a phase, one of many phases we all go through in our growing experiences. Take the step, be smart, you are smart, use it and be inspired, take action, always act on your feelings. Sometimes logic has nothing to do with some decisions we make. In fact, I speak for my own experiences; I have taken multiple decisions based on emotions. I then applied my logic but it was kind of too late anyway, my mind was set!!

Think about it, how much is it costing you to not be where you want to be? If you have goals, that is good, how on-track are you? If you have no goals, it is a problem! Make a list! If you know you have so much to gain, why are you not acting on it?

Think about it real hard, it could be one of the most serious and productive conversation you could have with yourself. Look at the mirror and speak the truth out!

My wish is if I can help or if you can benefit from my knowledge and experience, then I’d be more than happy to give it a shot! Just like many others, I was there, hanging on to my hopes, not having a clue. You will find and attract the people to help you, no question. I may be one of them. May be you will also help me. It is fascinating sometimes to look at where the course of events can lead to! And I love it! Just jump in the rabbit hole and go for it, give it a go, no matter how deep the hole goes! That sure will help you keep your focus for your GOALS!

All the best and I look forward to talking with you.

My Interests

Listening to this man's live seminars is a life changing experience.Meet Mr Jim Rohn: How to Avoid Being Broke and Stupid.

I'd like to meet:

Who I would love to meet

Really I am all for diversity, so location, background, all that kind of thing to me is great!

We live in the same world.

For me what matters the most is ATTITUDE!

I do NOT wish to interact with people who are:

- Pessimistic by nature and do not do anything about it.
- So easily overwhelmed with details and are not able to see the bigger picture.
- Just floating around and are not committed to doing what they say they do.
- Receivers but not givers.

Apart from that I think I'm pretty much able to interact with any type of personality!

Music:

Be Inspired and Take Action - Many Thanks to U2:

Because I play the drums, I totally enjoy listening to a variety of rhythms. I have however a preference for a couple of "styles" which are modern/fusion Jazz and Metal, go figure!! Although those musics sound opposite, they are in their nature quite dense and rich. Therefore, there is a lot to take and to learn from... From those intricate patterns of music you get with artists such as Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd and the likes, or those filled beats with notes all over the place with guys such as Mike Portnoy and the likes... So add unsual sections of rhythms with a bit of speed or density and you get an explosive mix!!Check these out:

One of Dave Weckl's endless treasures.

Or what about this from Mike Portnoy. I like his modern style.

Television:

When was the last time you saw a person stop and think on television? Thinking in public is just not done. When asked a question or given some other verbal or visual cue, a panelist or interviewee will bark out an instantaneous answer. Talking points will march out smartly, often backed up by a fact or a figure to display a certain certitude. But in a subjunctive mood, we can ask: What if a candidate, expert or pundit were to lean back in the hot seat, look up at the ceiling, wrinkle the brow, steeple the fingers — and say nothing for four or five seconds? Unprepared! the audience expecting instant profundity would cry. Yes. This is also true in other contexts. Most of us, when asked a question in a public setting like in a meeting, draw upon pre-generated thoughts or ideas and slightly massage it to fit the topic at hand. In any social situation with three or more people, I think it's difficult to think new thoughts because we are so hung up on portraying ourselves as smart or funny. Plus, our fear of embarrassment is such that we don't take risks in choosing what we say. We offer derivative, overly "safe" ideas as a result. This is why I find group conversations usually unsatisfying from an intellectual perspective. Thinking and communicating this thinking are independent jobs, and hard to do simultaneously. When thrust under the spotlight, even if it's the soft focus of friends, most of us focus oncommunicating pre-existing thoughts, and not actually thinking. I respond to the above logic in two ways:
a) create substantial amounts of alone time so that I can think and read and write by myself. If I don't set aside time to reflect, I only live in the chaos of the moment and can never think hard with a clear mind.
b) favor one-on-one conversations over group settings if the task at hand is brainstorming or idea generation. One-on-ones are more likely immune to challenges of group convos. So you guessed, I’m not a TV fan and in addition, it simply does not help me in any way, it is very passive.Oh sure enough there are great entertainment, documentary or movies at times but that’s about it for me as far as TV is concerned!

Books:

For me, books are a great source of food for the mind and the brain! Books can be incredibly powerful to help you stay on track or fine tune what you want out of life or simply guide you towards your own right direction if you have ever lost your path and it is quite a few of us out there...

In no particular order, I would definitely recommend the below readings should you be interested in keeping the right focus and have the mindset of a goal achiever.

1) "The Secret" - Rhonda Byrne
2) "The Attractor Factor" - Joe Vitale
3) "Think & Grow Rich" - Napoleon Hill
4) "As a Man Thinketh" - James Allen
5) "The Richest Man in Babylon" - George Clason
6) "Rich Dad Poor Dad" - Robert Kiyosaki
7) "Thinking For A Change" - John C. Maxwell
8) "The Millionaire Mind" - Steven Covey
9) "Do You" - Russell Simmons
10) "The Science of Getting Rich" - Wallace D. Wattles

Heroes:

Honestly, take a look at these people, they too have failed miserably...

"Opportunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." By Thomas Edison

I like this quote, isn’t it so true? But then, do you not also get confronted with a dilemma? And that is: Being the Doer or the Analyzer ?

If you go into journalism, you have to remember that you're not the star. You're not the one actually doing things. You're just commenting on what other people do. You need to be really interested in other people and their ideas rather than yourself and your own ideas.

Journalists are the ultimate analyzers. They report on and analyze and interpret the world. The better journalists even influence the doers. The great upside to this type of job is the diversity of topics you get to cover. The downside as the journalist is your sleeves are never rolled up. The world of management gurus, speakers, and some parts of academia is similar. You rove around and posit theories on different topics, but don't assume the hassles or rewards of implementation duties.

People who start and run companies are the ultimate doers. They are the ones in the trenches creating new stuff, solving real problems. Business reporters, venture capitalists, bankers, head hunters, etc. are not the stars. They play an important but secondary role in the new venture creation process. Being the entrepreneur - being the person creating a new thing - is a uniquely rewarding pursuit for this reason.

Who ever is able to make a difference in this world is a hero to me! We have to cope with so much uncertainty in our own lives that if you have a drive and you pursue your dreams and what you want out of your life, you are my true hero!!
