Part of this iz an example of what i call:Hop-Rock.With the Hendrix stuff,i'm actually introducing a new context, part of it was the direction he was taking after Sky Church that i originally discovered through my hero:Miles Davis(hope it catches on). Some of these tracks are " very raw ",and the 1st take please excuse the wrong notes and over-bends,LOL.My style is totally improvised,an intuitive approach, based on how i feel " in the moment "not notes. The goal iz to present Jimi'z art in a modern form, fused with what i picked up from James Brown.Since James is The Root of Modern Music, and Jimi The Origin of Modern Guitar, their creativity will Always BE Relivant, because It Proceeded from Thier Souls. The Soul is Timeless. My theory on music is based in Jazz;songs should be created Once, repitition kills new forms of inspiration/epression.I'm a producer,i don't adhere to that Tired OLD concept of 20th Century Song Structure verse;chorus;12 to 24 bar solo etc,i make songs from Solos.People forget toward the end of Jimi'z career he was pissed with his " mass audience's " inability to move beyond Chas Chandler produced Hits.Hendrix,in esscence was an instrumentalist, and had more Jam-Songs recorded than Anything else.Truth & Emotion eplores that arena. So thanx 4 +ing me and listening....The player below contains the very last " public example " of ' where' Jimi'z his head was musically; please SPREAD THE WORD.
