Bookends Collective

About Me

The concept of Bookends Collective is simple. You wanna create? Then make it happen! No specific genre, No rules, No borders, No problem. The whole thing started last winter when Erin and I played a christmas concert. We kept jamming , writing, then we recorded "Seeds" and began formulating the concept of a band environment. The kind of writing we do is aimed at promoting thought and action on many issues without the aggression associated with typical bands with a political agenda. We wish to offer alternate view-points, and perspectives. We are a "Collective" meaning members can come and go, injecting their personalities and skills into the songs. "Seeds" is the prime example. The song recorded as a full-band song yet it has been performed live by two guitars and vocals, a guitar, vocals and jazz keyboardist, by a live jazz-rock ensemble called "24Carat". The song takes a different flavour everytime and its exciting to hear. The "Bookends" part is that Erin and myself ,Randy, are the two constants on either side of an ensemble of players on different instruments giving each song a life of its own each time its played. Enjoy! ,drop us a word or two. We will update this site as often as possible even when our home site is completed.
