This page is for the JAZZCUMBIA PROJECT, created and run by John Restrepo Founder and Leader of the group. The sound of the group comes from combining the rich musical traditions of Colombian Music; Cumbia, Porro, Curulo, Fandango, and others, with the improvisation and "swing" of Jazz. This group is creating a great new sound that is very unique, especially to Jazz.
The Jazz Cumbia Project is a Quintet sometimes augmented with musical freinds, creating a fresh new approach to Jazz, Latin, and groove oriented music.
