STREET WAYS (born Michael Ortiz) was born in Chicago Illinois to a single mother of three where he spent the shorter part of his life. At the tender age of seven years old he was sent to Tampa Florida to visit who he knows as his Father only to have never been sent back. "Ajusting to what was soppose to be a new and better life in sunny florida wasnt easy!" says STREET WAYS "But I figured God knew what he was doing with me." Later around the age of ten STREET WAYS as smart as he was started to notice and become a product of the environment he adjusted to. "I was unable to just be a kid." The situations that surrounded me forced me to become very observant of what was going on around me so I could deal with it as it come. I was very STREET smart!?" says STREET WAYS. As a teen STREET WAYS struggle continued as he watched his step family fall apart due to drugs, money, and betrayal. After a violation of his house arrest STREET WAYS found himself in prison for his 21st birthday and dealing with what he concidered the last streatch of his childhood. "At that point I didnt know what was next, what I did know was it was time to be 21 bout it!"(street slag meaning grown up about it) After his release in 2006 22 year old STREET WAYS started to lay the foundation to his music career and has been grinding it out ever scince. When asking STREET WAYS why he choose music as his way out the streets with out breaking eye contact he said "My whole life Ive been creative, and very good with words.
