When I was groing up I had a great life, great parents and a good education. I had not seen violence until I was with the rescue unit. I saw some violence there and then after my marriage with a stepchild and my 2 children and myself. My 2 children and I moved and I had seen some of friends abused and I was always there for them and still am. How I found out about this great cause is when Sean Simmonds came to Madison, Alabama in 2008 and he told of the song he made for this wonderful cause and after his concert. I got the chance to meet him and he told me more about Children Without a Voice. I signed up and here I am to help in whatever way that I can.
The story you read below the spokesperson banner will hopefully educate you on what is going on with child abuse in this country. Perhaps it will encourage you to get involved with the greatest cause, protecting our innocent children. We are seeking qualified volunteers to serve on our many committees and board.
PLEASE CONSIDER SERVING A GOOD CAUSE!
The MOST GUT WRENCHING child abuse story that you will ever read about...Please take a few minutes and educate yourself. If you feel you are in a position to make a difference in the lives of American children, then I invite you to view the actual news video below. Right here in America, folks!
Brianna Lopez was born February 14, 2002.
FIVE months later on July 19, 2002,
Brianna suffered some of the worst abuse
imaginable for a child that age.
The abuse resulted in the death of this poor baby girl.
On record are allegations of sexual abuse,
being shaken and beaten,
over 13 adult sized bite marks
as well as other lacerations and contusions
over her entire body.
Injuries to her genital and anal area were also found.
Brianna's family called 911
and said that she had fallen out of her chair
and was no longer breathing.
On trial for her death were
Brianna's mother, Stephanie Lopez
who is accused of murdering her,
her father, Andy Walters and an Uncle, Steven Lopez
who are accused of sexually abusing her
and murdering her and her Grandmother,
Patricia Walters and one other Uncle,
Robert Walters Jr., who face charges
of failing to report child abuse.
Susana Martinez, District Attorney had this to say:
"To say this child was beaten head to toe
is not an exaggeration. I find their statements
extremely self-serving. It's all about how I feel,
what I've gone through, how life has been
difficult for me since I've been arrested.
And never there was any empathy for Brianna."
Folks, though I applaud the efforts of other interest groups, humanitarians and U.S. corporations fighting against AIDS, global warming, poverty and other world causes, I believe there needs to be GREATER INVOLVEMENT WITH THE PLIGHT OF ABUSED CHILDREN IN THE UNITED STATES. How can we help the children in Russia, South America, Thailand, Brazil, Malaysia, Africa, Cambodia, Indonesia and elsewhere if we don't protect our own children? I would much rather save a child's life than hug a tree, but that's MY choice. Nearly 3 million American child abuse cases are reported each year in this country. REPORTED. Experts estimate that number to be three times greater, putting child abuse cases at 9 MILLION. Every day, 4 children die from abuse in THIS country. SBS (Shaken Baby Syndrome)is a horrible tragedy and rapidly growing.
Let's start right now and in THIS country and stop the rampant heinous crimes against OUR MOST PRECIOUS NATURAL RESOURCE-OUR CHILDREN. I DARE any Hollywood celebrity or corporation to join me and take this cause on in OUR country.
The video below is the recent baby Aiden Waller story. At 1 year of age and having recently spent months in the Intensive Care Unit, he is learning to eat from a bottle without being fed by tubes. He may be blind, and most likely faces a short life, full of obstacles and health problems from his abuse. He is in the foster system. His mother just had another child.
