About Me

I get bored really easily if I spend too much time in any one place, or doing any one thing...So with that said, I love to travel and take road trips - and you'll pretty much never find me at home on the weekends. My first love is sailing - I started when I was about five I guess. I've sailed across Lake Michigan close to 40 times, sailed across Lake Superior once, and have sailed in hundreds of races, including the Chicago to Mackinac. I started racing small boats by myself when I was about ten years old, and these days, I usually sail with my Dad in whatever races he's got lined up for the summer.I also spin records. I mostly get into techno and house, but you can find me listening to just about anything, depending on my mood. I'm also part of a DJ duo.I'm into just about anything outside - camping, hiking, mountain biking, skiing...

My Interests

Sailing, music, spinning records, clubbing, tailgating, travelling, doing things on a whim, flying by the seat of my pants, procrastinating, skiing, road trips, backpacking, anything outside.....

Music:

Techno, house, classic rock, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, Rush, Dylan, old-school loungy stuff. I love classic rock, classic lounge, classic techno, classic hip-hop, and pretty much anything retro. I love the Detroit techno sound, and the Chicago house sound, and everything in between.

Movies:

Old School, Wedding Crashers, Captain Ron, Without Limits, Harold & Kumar, The Pianist.

Television:

Ummmm, I do have cable now after taking a 2 year hiatus from TV, but I pretty much only watch CNN - except when I'm catching NASCAR - a sport with which I have an odd fascination... haha

Books:

The Bible, anything by Tristan Jones (he has the craziest sailing stories...) I also read the Economist on a regular basis - great magazine. Read it every week, and it's like having a PhD and being one of those old guys who chills in the corner of a coffee shop with a big pipe hanging off his lip... I also started reading Business Week, Natl. Geog. Explorer, Outside, Wired, etc.

Heroes:

First and foremost Jesus, followed in no particular order by my Dad, my Mom, Stacia, Zach, Grant, Chris, and Joy.
