salman rushdie, gabriel garcia marquez, paulo cuelo, kurt vonnegut, isaac asimov, the bronte sisters, tennesee williams, umberto ecco, william gibson, walt whitman, the english patient, the unbearable lightness of being, dune, a tree grows in brooklyn, hemingway, phillip dick, henry miller (man oh man he had fun!) the last temptation of christ, ayn rand, dostoyevsky, spoon river anthology, NOT buckowsky (womanizing, self centered, didn't appreciate how good he had it, hemingway wannabe, no talent hack!) i rescind my prior disdain for dickens. hes alright. and i'm reading the dark tower series so i'd be a hypocrite if i continued to publicly denounce king. even though i do still kind of feel like an asshole for reading his stuff.
those people throughout history who've managed to shake things up for the better without hurting their fellow man in the process. i admire people with conviction, with the courage to create, with a faith in humanity that allows them to remain optimistic, and with the strength to achieve their dreams despite any obstacle. and also my family, esp. my parents, 'cause they've put up with more shit from me than most people deserve in a lifetime.
