colin and lauren met in september 2003 while taking part in the new vision engineering program at boces. colaurin (but not at the time..) first started becoming really good friends on lauren's birthday, when she didn't have any lunch and colin offered half of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich. at the time, lauren was unaware just what colin had given up, because colin loves food. shortly after this, around october 2003, colin and lauren were involved in a four-car pile up when someone cut off dave (a mutal friend) who was being followed by colin, lauren, and brittany respectively. unfortunately, everyone stopped in time except for brittany who hit lauren and then colin. but lauren remembers how sweet colin was (no, that's not a pun) during the situation and gave both girls a hug and was so comforting. we became even closer friends during twelfth grade while in new vision and could be found playing (or for lauren, learning) guitar together, getting there faster by panda, playing connect four, sitting clueless while C++ partners, or doing something crazy. we continued to talk and remained close friends to each other throughout freshman year of college even though lauren was in boston and colin was in troy, ny. when we got home from school, we were excited to see each other, but nothing happened until may 27th when lauren invited mr. sweet to a party where she ended up taking care of a very sick colin, and they both realized their real feelings for each other in a story that lauren jokes she will never let colin live down. after that, the two were unsure of what they wanted to do because both were going back to school. but after a lot of back and forth, colaurin decided on june 20th that they would be together until colin went away on tour with insult to tradition. then as time past, and colaurin hung out more and more, they realized they did not want to seperate, so they stayed together through tour. lauren was sad to see colin leave, but knew he had to. however, colin's band's van broke down in ohio so he got to come home early. the two then spent as much time together as they could. when it came time to leave for school, colaurin decided to take a break, because long-distance might be tough. but at school, both we miserable and missed each other. one weekend, colin decided to surprise lauren by coming to boston for the weekend to see her. after the weekend, both realized it was ridiculous to not be together. friends of both parties (especially lauren) were overjoyed to hear this and glad the two finally realized how silly they were being. to make a long story short, the two discussed and decided that their anniversary was to be june 20th. and since that time, our cuteness has been the cause of nausea of friends, acquaintances, and innocent bystanders. we've been together for a while now, and are very much in love. however, we are not sure why there is a double standard that allows other couples to publicly display affection sans ostracism, but it is our hope that through awareness we will be able to live in harmony with people of all marital statuses. aaand we apologize if we are so cute that it makes you throw up.
