About Me

Trusty Shellback: The Maestro of Mermaid Melodies

When anchors are aweigh, the mermaids will play and spellbound sailors will swim with sultry sirens in the salty sea. Mysterious mer-music will mesmerize mariners and tempest-tossed travellers will fall into a torpid trance. Curious aquatic creatures will enchant, intrigue, and perplex. Raptures of the deep will intoxicate like bumbo and grog. The hauntingly surreal siren songs began long ago.

Trusty Shellback was always Haze Gray and Underway because he sailed the seven seas. One day in the Tropics while SCUBA diving in search of Davy Jones' locker, he met the legendary aquatic creatures with the head and torso of a human female and the tail of a fish.

"Come live with us in the sea" they said, "down on the ocean floor. We'll show you a million wondrous things that you never have seen before." So along he swam and they pulled him down below to their seaweed bed. A pillow made of tortoise shells they placed beneath his head. They fed him shrimps and caviar upon a silver dish. From their head to their waist they were just his taste, but their bottom half was a fish.

King Neptune, ruler of the Raging Main, bade him a hearty welcome. To all sea creatures living in the remote realm known as "Imperium Neptuni Regis," King Neptune issued a royal edict of denizenship. "He has been found worthy to be numbered as one of our Trusty Shellbacks and he has been duly initiated into the SOLEMN MYSTERIES OF THE ANCIENT ORDER OF THE DEEP."

Thereafter, as a new denizen of the briny deep, the shantyman life of Trusty Shellback went swimmingly. Whenever the mysterious Mermaids would sing sultry siren songs, the musical magic of these strange aquatic creatures would enchant, intrigue, and perplex stuporous sailors aboard the ships at sea.

Today, when anchors are aweigh, the mermaids continue to play and spellbound sailors continue to swim with sultry sirens in the salty sea. Mysterious mer-music continues to mesmerize mariners and tempest-tossed travellers continue to fall into a torpid trance. Curious aquatic creatures continue to enchant, intrigue, and perplex. Raptures of the deep continue to intoxicate like bumbo and grog. You might experience nautical nirvana listening to sublime seafaring songs like "Swimming with Mermaids" and "Denizens of the Briny Deep."

Contact Information

Land Lubbers and Slimy Polliwogs may give Trusty Shellback a surfside CLAM CALL on his reeky Squirt "shell" phone at 1 (203) DEEP-SIX. If unavailable, then leave him a salty "MER MAIL" message. Alternatively, Wogs may send a "FISH FAX" to the Mermaids at 1 (203) SEA-WEED.

Shipwrecked sailors marooned on an uncharted, deserted isle may blow a conch shell trumpet or send a message in a bottle to summon Trusty Shellback and his melodious Mermaids who will perform an acapella Castaway Concert.

Sea Dogs are reminded that jetsam is the property of the finder, while flotsam remains the property of its original owner. Pirates, Privateers, and licensed Buccaneers must present their letters of marque. Scurvy Knaves will be pursued by the Admiralty.
