Mariani is a sassy, creative and versatile "Boss Lady" in the game. Her style is authentic and incorporates a mixture of Hip Hop, R&B and her spunky personality. Some of her career highlights include opening for artists such as T.I., Lil Wayne, Ja Rule and Big Gip, participating in the Fashion Rock Holiday Fest as well as releasing her first album in 2004 on an independent/underground label entitled "Queen of the South".
A native of Daytona Beach, FL, Mariani was raised in a single family home by her father (John) with two older siblings (Tony and Sabrina). She describes her upbringing as adventurous, spontaneous and filled with a lot of sports and family love. At age 6 she remembers her first attraction to rap, now considered "old school rap" and made a conscious decision at that point to become a singer. By age 12, the word was out, Mariani was herald a talented up and coming star.
Like most successful artists, Mariani writes all of her music drawing inspiration from the world around her. When asked about the source of her strength and motivation, she replied, "the hurt and struggle of life along with the haters who say, 'I'm not going to make it', keep me going. Since I was 18yrs old, I've been on my own taking life's hard knocks, striving to get ahead." Mariani inked five tattoos throughout her journey that overall represent her climb from "Rock Bottom" to "Top Notch" status and her faith in God. Her main musical influences are Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole and Betty Wright, women who through there own trials and tribulations, in some similarity to hers, did not let it stop them from accomplishing their dreams.
Currently, Mariani is in the developmental stage of her next album. She has already released two hot tracks, "Get Money and Oh Ohh"' that are in play and in demand. "This album will reflect a more mature, accomplished and sassy woman", she replies, "life has taught me some difficult lessons and they'll come out through my music. I believe my fans will find hope and inspiration in my new CD and also be entertained."
