My Interests

I'd like to meet:

About Me
I have been a freelance percussion performer and teacher since 1994 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from BGSU in 2002. At BGSU I learned the larger world of percussion including studies in vibraphone, marimba, and concert percussion. Also during this time I performed in big bands, jazz combos, Balinese gamelon ensembles, and various percussion ensembles. I have also performed in countless pit orchestras in Ohio and Michigan including performances at the Stranahan Theatre, The Franciscan Theatre, The Toledo Repertoire Theatre, and the Crosswell Opera House.
Besides performing with 56 Daze, I am also a performer with The Secret Stones, an experimental rock band that is currently working on its first EP. You can check the band out at www.myspace.com/thesecretstones. I also have my own personal creative endeaver called Part Wolf. You can check that out at www.myspace.com/partwolf.
I teach private drum lessons at Valley Music in Maumee. If you are interested in lessons give a call to: Valley Music 419-893-0581
HOW I SPEND MY FREE TIME: Listening to records, writing music, recording music, watching other bands perform, practicing drums, watching geeky drum videos.
I love to play music live more than almost anything. It doesn’t matter if it’s rock, jazz, or anything in between. To me they each carry their own unique experiences.
I absolutely embrace change. Things always have to keep moving to keep me interested. Stagnation is death to me.
... and I also like pop tarts.
I'd Like to Meet
The unique, the opposed, the talented, the insistent dreamers, the visionarys, the undoubting, the intoxicated, the daring, those that can admit mistakes joyfully in an understanding of forward motion and the evolvement of the soul, and the all-inclusive self-inducing. In short, those on the verge of losing their minds, have lost their minds, or have lost them and returned.
Being exposed to new things that hasn't been shoved down your throat from a lot of money and advertising is a good thing. It's standing up for what you like. In no way is it not being yourself. It's quite the opposite. Growth is a good thing. Life is about searching and seeking. Being complacent is sad and boring. If you only take what is spoon fed to you you'll never grow truly into yourself as a person. You'll become a drone of society, forever living in a worthless and uninspired bubble.
Definitive beginnings and endings are for people that believe life works like a book or a movie, which in that case you have been way misinformed and mislead. Things flow through natural streaming of time and circumstances. Events and meaning pursue their own agenda. Often not on your clock or rulebook. Don't be caught up in a game of endless justification of how things are supposed to work. You'll always come up short.
Love is about patience and growth, if one's never had the latter then they never truly have loved.
Foolish pride is an evil monster.
We are all just spirits, trying to see through each others body's.
