Hello My Name is Michael Keith Whitley, I come from a very talented and musical family, My uncle Keith was one of the most talented singers and song writers in the music industry. Keith was well on his way to super stardom, When Keith was taken away May 9th, 1989. My father Dwight is a great musician and singer in his own right, My brother John was a very loving brother and father to his three children . And well on his way to a long lasting career in music himself. John had his own style of outlaw country, But his career was cut short due to his untimely death in 2002.I currently work as a Union Pipefitter, Local 498. I'd like to pursue my musical talent as a singer/songwriter, I play Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Banjo and Harmonica. Some of my favorite things includes, Stock Car Racing,Track Racing and Motorcross.I am an avid animal lover, Particularly partial to my Jack Russell "Stevie Marie" Named after singer Stevie Nicks and My Mother Flora Marie Whitley. I also have another great dog , breed unknown , Named Skid Row, In short "Skid".Nashville, TN October 10th, 2009 “Artist to The Starsâ€, Corey Frizzell will be a special guest for the Keith Whitley Memorial Tribute Concert at the world famous, Nashville Palace. Frizzell will be on hand as one of his fine art prints of the late Whitley is auctioned. Frizzell will autograph and present the print to the highest bidder. The print is a copy of a portrait Frizzell created of the late Country Star, Keith Whitley and is on display as part of Whitley’s exhibit in the KY Music Hall of Fame. Frizzell’s portrait was commissioned by Bonnie Cherrie Hill, originator of a petition drive to see Whitley inducted in Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame. Hill also serves as Director and co-founder of The Keith Whitley Association.Other Artists scheduled to appear are as follows: Bluegrass Artists Ralph Stanley II, Mark Newton, Randy Kohrs, Don Rigsby, and Lenny Centers; Country Artists Ken Mellons, Billy Ryan, Kevin Denney, Jesse Keith Whitley, C. J. Garton, Terry Hall, Michael Keith Whitley, Jannet Lee, Michael Ken, Korey Blake, Seth Hopkins, George Molton, Holly Lynn, Garrett Walker, Chris Caskey and Randy Hayes.The concert will be sponsored by the Keith Whitley Association. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 8:30 pm to 1:00 am. Admission will be $20 at the door with proceeds to benefit the Keith Whitley Memorial Fund and the Lyric Frizzell Fund to help alleviate expenses incurred during her battle with Leukemia.
