Marcel Boer

About Me

Marcel Boer was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, and raised up north in Thunder Bay. Having a natural affinity for music, he started playing piano when he was quite young, and the saxophone when he was slightly less young. After difficulty finding a solid bass player, Marcel moved to Toronto where he studied music at Humber College with many superlative instructors including Kelly Jefferson, Pat Labarbera and Don Thompson. In the quest for gainful employment, Marcel joined the ranks of 'lost musicians' on cruise ships and toured the world in the bowels of luxury liners. Fortunately, after long enough in this profession, he still likes music and is currently living in Montreal, Quebec, where he works as an instrument repair technician and intends to persue his music indefinitely.
