Hello, my name is Nickie Johnson and I am a stay at home mom. I have two wonderful children ,Anthony is 12 and Ashleigh is 9. I have a wonderful hubby named Glenn,I thank God everyday for all of the wonderful people in my life! I am the Children Without A Voice "Angel" coordinator for North Carolina. I joined this cause by chance. One night I was up late,could not sleep. I was checking out music myspace pages and I came across a beautiful and very talented woman by the name of Tawny Heath. I liked her music and continued to look at her page and seen the Children Without A Voice banner and was very interested to know what it was. I checked out the CWAVUSA website and seen that it was for child abuse. I was interested automatically. I was not abused as a child by my parents.Many of my friends were as a child, I was born in North Carolina and raised in Southern California. We mostly lived in apartments,and most of my friends lived next door. I remember many nights crying along with my friends as they were abused. When their parents would finally stop I remember telling them that it would be okay. It never was, I was determined to help out in someway when I grew up. When I was 7 years old I went to my new friends slumber party. I was so excited to finally have a friend and she and I had the same name. My mother took me to buy new pajamas, Strawberry Shortcake. We all had a great time, a lot of other girls from school came. When it was time for bed her father molested me and some of the other girls. He had molested both of his own girls and his son all of their lives . I cannot remember a lot from my childhood but that never leaves my head. Now I am a mother it is time to do something to help others. When I had my daughter I put my son in daycare for a few hours a day, and it lasted two days. He was abused by a daycare provider on the FIRST day. I did not know why he did not want to go back until a few days later we went to lunch and the lady from the daycare came in. Anthony was screaming so uncontrolable I could not even hold him. That day I knew what had happened to my son. I want to help make it never happen to any child ever! Please be careful of who takes care of your children! At home,daycare,school and even at a slumber party!! Stop this terrible tragedy from happening to other innocent children.
