About Me

The name 'Da Subway' goes back a while ago when it was my deejay name. Back in the day I had aspirations of spinning tunes, even though I don't buy vinyl like I used to, I'm still a technohead, and there's nothing better than hearing a phat break and a rolling bassline!!
I was born in England, in a small quaint city called Worcester, which is nestled in the southwest edge of the midlands.
I have three lovely sisters, Tina, Dawn and Susan, and two brothers, Mark and Andrew, who sadly isn't with us anymore. I also have two lovely sister-in-laws, Jackie and Carolyn, and my favourite brother-in-law Anthony, and Michael.
I have a nephew, Stuart, and my nieces are Natasha, Emma, Kele, Michelle, Natalie, Charlotte and Georgina.
My newest nephew is Dylan, who just recently turned 1 year old recently.
I like the Buffalo area, it's a contrasting urban area with beautiful surrounding countryside, picturesque landscapes, and an awe inspiring wonder of the world called Niagara Falls. Buffalo has an array of heritage and character, contained within a diverse history. I think that the people in and around Buffalo define this area, and in my experience theyre warm, friendly, down to earth and passionate about what they like. The Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Bandits are just three good examples of how the populace of The Queen City embrace their sports teams with passion.
How I became a Sabres fan is a long story. I remember watching hockey on TV when I was little nipper (many moons ago!!) on a Saturday afternoon, and to be quite honest I used to like the fighting!! There were two teams that I remember. There was The Philadelphia Flyers, (The Broad Street Bullies) with those dodgy orange and black uniforms, but my favourite was the team who wore the blue and gold!! I'm not entirely sure why? I think it was mainly because the blue and gold uniforms (courtesy of Punch Imlach) reminded me of the US cavalry, (my dad was a big fan of cowboy and western movies!!!) so I just liked the Buffalo Sabres!! A few years later Channel 4 started showing NFL games, so I instinctively started to follow The Buffalo Bills!!
Many years later I met my wife,(she's from the Buffalo area, and a Sabres fan too) and since then Ive followed the Buffalo Sabres, through good times & bad, through bankruptcy and beyond. Those lean years just helped the Sabres endear themselves to me even more, I never gave up on them.
I love the passion of Sabres fans. I'll never forget going down to Dunn Tire Park, and watching game six of the conference finals, when the Sabres beat Carolina in OT. The post-game celebrations was something I'll never forget!! The fans were insane that night!! There were fans cheering and screaming, there were car horns honking all over the place!! It was amazing scene to watch and be a part of!!!

Football (soccer to americans) is still my first love.I follow my hometown team Worcester City, but I'm also a lifelong fan of Crystal Palace. Ive been following Crystal Palace for as long as I can remember. To be honest I don't know why, but I just do!!
It goes without saying that I follow my national team, The England!! Who are my absolute passion!!
This is the Wembley Stadium, home of England. It looks stunning!!
This is when England beat Germany 1-5 in their own backyard in a world cup qualifier!!
Here's Selhurst Park, Home of Crystal Palace!!
I also follow the New York Red Bulls, and the Rochester Raging Rhinos. I'm so chuffed at how well Queen's City FC has progressed. Back a few years ago I was also a fan of the Buffalo Blizzard.
I'm a Buffalo Bills fan (that's a polite way of saying that I furking love the Bills!!)I went to watch them play on an extremely cold Sunday afternoon against the Pats. I loved every minute of it!!! I'd love to go and see them again some day instead of watching them on TV and listening to Murph and Mark Kelso!!!
Back home in England I follow my cricket team Worcestershire, and I also follow our national cricket team, England.I also follow the Worcester Warriors who are a rugby union team!!
I love my music, but.......I'm pretty definite at what I like and what I don't like!! I'm a fan of electronic music, and I started following bands like Heaven 17, Kraftwerk, the Human League and Cabaret Voltaire. I like electro, particulary Mantronix.I like house music and techno from Detroit. I'm a big fan of Boards Of Canada, and many other genres of music ranging from Hardcore techno like Lenny Dee to ambient music, downtempo artists like DJ Shadow, and IDM artists like Autechre. I don't like rock music, and I can't stand country.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

It would be my absolute honour and privilege to meet Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin Sandison, AKA Boards of Canada. They have been a major influence on me.
I'd also like to meet two other musicians, Sean Booth and Rob Brown who are Autechre.

You don't have to be a brain surgeon to know that I would like to meet any of the Buffalo Sabres!!! Ive met a few Sabres a few years ago, whilst asking for autographs at the back of the arena. I'd also like to meet Brian Morman, Ian Botham, Alan Shearer, Derek Jeter and Peter Forsberg. It is my absolute pleasure to be friends and meet anyone who are sports fans, and are out there in the Sabres nation!!

I would also like to meet the bass explorer: Dillinja, Doc Scott, and DJ Shadow. I'd also like to meet Johnny Depp, Seth MacFarlane, Paul Whitehouse, Danny Masterson, Mila Kunis, Laura Prepon Thora Birch and Tina Fey.
