The Cold 100

About Me

The Cold 100 are a 4 piece Blues/Rock band based in Dublin. Taking the bulk of their influences from the old bluesmen of Chicago and the Missippi Delta, The Cold 100 channel much of the same spirit, passion and power in their music and performances that these great artists explemfied in their songs.Particular influences on the band are the likes of Son House, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and the enigmatic Robert Johnson. It was a lyric taken from the 1937 Robert Johnson classic “Terraplane Blues” that provided the band with their name. The Cold 100 began life in 2007 when lead guitar player Mark Walsh began writing and recording songs with singer and rhythm guitarist Simon Delaney. A profound love of the blues and the iconic rock bands of the 60’s & 70’s inspired them to start writing their own songs…and so it all began. Bass player George Forsyth & drummer David Mullan were enlisted shortly after, in the later half of 2008, and the collective began rehearsing and recording - it was only then that The Cold 100 was born. The Cold 100 pride themselves on songwriting and musicianship, coupled with a powerful and dynamic rhythm section, the songs they have written make them very different from almost every other band you’ll hear just about anywhere at the moment. Groove and feeling drives the music of The Cold 100 with this being at the centre of the band’s ethos.Watch Out!
