INTO THE DIRT

Okay, long story short...
INTO THE DIRT hail from various locations throughout the Lehigh Valley, PA area.
The band was originally conceived as a fledgling project called HARNESS in 1998 following the demise of a band that three of the musicians played in together called THIRD FROM THE SUN. Unfortunately, HARNESS met with an early demise as overall direction and personal conflicts led to a split. Chris and Deron continued in SUPERTRUCK but before long, lack of direction led to another split.
At this point, Deron (on guitar this time around) formed DEMON DOG SPERM while Chris took time off away from music. D.D.S. muscled its way to the top of the local music scene and signed on with OPEN GRAVE RECORDS in 2006. Chris was then added as second guitar in D.D.S. and stayed with the band until his December 2007 departure.
In the meantime, Bruce spent about five years away from music entirely following the demise of HARNESS , until the formation of FERRUM in late 2006. After playing some shows together with D.D.S. , communication between the three members of the HARNESS line-up began anew. After Chris' departure from D.D.S. , the band continued on as a four-piece until Bruce came in on guitar in February 2008. However, this didn't last long as D.D.S. went on an indefinite Hiatus in May 2008; the frustrations of the industry and internal strife had taken its toll on the long-standing members of D.D.S.
Chris, Bruce , and Deron agreed on a return to the earlier material under the HARNESS moniker as well as finding the direction that they lacked in 1998 and have reformed as INTO THE DIRT.
As of 13 February 2010, Nikita Santiago , previously of APOCRYFIEND , has joined the project on bass.
