Northeast Animal Rescue

About Me

Notice: We are not taking any new cats at this time.
Northeast Animal Rescue is a a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Northeast Philadelphia. We are dedicated to saving homeless, unwanted and abandoned cats and dogs. We depend solely on donations, which are tax deductible.
NAR focuses on having feral (wild) cats spayed and/or neutered to decrease overpopulation. In the process of helping feral cats, we come across many who are friendly. These cats receive medical attention with the help of local veterinarians, and when ready, are put up for adoption. All our cats are cared for in foster homes. As a general policy, we do not take owner-surrendered cats.
NAR is also dedicated to re-homing Shih Tzus and other small dog breeds. Our dogs are rescued from shelters, puppy mills and any neglectful situations. They are fostered in a home environment until a loving, forever home is available.
Our goal is to place as many dogs and cats in stable, loving homes where they will be cared for and never be abandoned, abused or neglected.

Our cats are fostered in homes of volunteers. We have two store locations: the PETsMART located at 11000 Roosevelt Bvld. in the Northeast (near Chickie's and Pete's) and the PETsMART located at 3995 Welsh Rd. in Willow Grove.

Check out our photos for a complete list of all the cats or
mouse over the photos in the slide show (above) for names.

Adoption fee for a cat is $100, which includes microchipping. If you're interested in a pair of cats, the adoption fee is $185. All cats have been tested for FeLV/AIDS, neutered and/or spayed and are up-to-date on vaccinations.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Adopters and volunteers! We currently have over 50 cats and/or kittens available for adoption. We are always looking for volunteers to help out at our store locations and homes to foster our cats. You must be at least 18-years old. Please visit nar.rescuegroups.org for applications.
