Fresh, poppy and lots of attitude: three words to describe Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, CSS, The Ting Tings,... Bands we like more than the usual minimal house, 90s techno and drum 'n bass we hear when we go out these days.
Nowadays, kids are craving an eclectic mix of good indie like Kings of Leon or MGMT, electro-rock like Klaxons or Justice and even some out and out pop like Sugababes or Amy Winehouse. We don't care for the so called trendy pumped-up remixes and mash-ups (add a bit of bleeps and blops, and there you go, you're übercool). No, we play the original songs, 'cause that's what it's all about.
And that's why to most DJs we say SHUT UP and to the kids we say DANCE.
