About Me
DJ Greyo started off his long journey in this highly addictive subculture back in the early early 90's while attending numerous break dancing competitions in and around New York City. He didn't pay much attention to the dancers, his main focus was on the Djs rippin up the wheels and keeping the crowd focused. His inherant interest in becoming a DJ was further cultivated by many nights in a trance like state standing directly in front of the largest and loudest speakers in the Tunnel, Sound Factory, Exit, Limelight and Silo just to name a few....So naturally after about a year of hooking up stereo systems and doing custom work on cars, Greyo purchased his first set of legitimate DJ hardware: Technique 1200's with a Gemini mixer. While working a full time job, he continued to put in 6+ hours a day honing his skills. Unfortunately upon coming home from work one day, Greyo happened upon a sickening scene, his equipment was stolen out of his garage with no trace of suspect.....After a couple years went by, Greyo almost forgot about this art.... In that time he established himself as one of the foremost custom automotive and truck fabrication players in the game around the Tri-State area. Greyo again began to DJ at local house parties, bars, and rented halls along with a couple of his friends weddings.. but soon enough he wondered back into the clubs, this time in NJ...Hittin the clubs at the Jersey shore and most importantly venturing into Platinum on countless weekends where he eventually began promoting for them. In that time he met 2 influential DJ's: Davis G from Upper Level Entertainment, and Mike Bugout from NY, who held it down for all of Platinums finest years. During his time there he became a student of the game, but could never figure out how to blend up music and move the crowd there quite like they did. Countless Fridays were spent observing thier styles, right up until Platinum closed its doors, and that was the end of that... Another year passed, Greyo had been meeting and connecting with a few big name DJ's in this area and again his interest was sparked. Greyo went back and started doing private parties and events again. His hunger for bigger venues recently led him to Indigo Lounge in North Brunswick NJ as a featured DJ for Saturday nights. So whats next for DJ Greyo? Only the future can tell, but DJ Greyo is a student of this game and he is always looking for ways to incorporate new styles and techniques into his sets, so if you want to link up and talk tech
