About Me

Someone recently said to Sara, "You are, like, what hipsters fetishize." He meant that from risk-taking jazz interpretations to thoughtful, soul-baring, original pop songs, you'll like what Sara has to say.
An LA native, Leib now resides in the San Fernando Valley (much to her own chagrin). She keeps busy in LA singing, teaching, and writing. Leib has also established herself as an in demand session singer. Contact at Saraleib.com for details. You can currently find Sara on teaching faculty at World Mission University.
On a personal note, Sara Leib enjoys leading a colorful life. She likes good wine, funky cheeses, dark chocolate, soup, dry rub ribs, and food in general. She also likes friendly people, talking to strangers, biofeedback, exploring ethnic grocery stores, lawn flamingos, triangles (the instruments), her new creme' brulee recipe, gumbo, collecting takeout menus, modern design (favorite designers are her dad, Karim Rashid, and Charles and Ray Eames), social consciousness, and shops/restaurants that specialize in one thing. Like Pinkberry. Or Rice to Riches. And taco stands and teahouses. Or places that sell barbeque through a window. She absolutely adores throwing dinner parties, and possesses an uncannny ability/talent of being able to recall every meal she's ever eaten (she inherited this trait from her maternal grandfather...ask her to do an impression). Sara also likes...decaf, books you can't put down, real chicago pizza, buffy, swimming, italian food with delivery, farmers' markets, friendly arguments, persian food (and most things skewered), fruit rolls, lip balms and shampoos and sleepovers. She is super tangential but is working on being more linear. She collects masks. She loves key lime pie but dislikes lemon meringue. Her favorite website is primates.com. Leib hopes that her musical career will one day bring her the kind of notoriety that will land her a gig as a taster on Iron Chef America.
Here's recent video os Sara performing at the Academy Awards with the Hollywood Film Chorale in Steve Sidwell's "Elements and Motion":
"Wait, jazz? This isn't jazz!" Yeah, whatever, buddy. I sing all kinds of music. Thought the singer/songwriter stuff might be more your style. For Sara Leib's jazz profile, please see http://www.myspace.com/saraleibjazz

Empathy Deficit

To me, nothing sums up how I feel about my beloved country right now more than what I heard Barak Obama say recently on an NPR story, that we have an "Empathy Deficit". Yeah, no kidding.
