Now living in Austin where I am playing, recording, and teaching.
I was living in the Bay Area where I played with a couple of eclectic jazz oriented projects. The primary group was The Other Lebowski which is my own trio(Jon Herrera-bass, Jon Arkin-drums) and played mostly original music although we did some interesting arrangements of Hendrix, Frisell, etc. Other notable people that I played with were Bitches Brew, Aphrodesia, Chris Rossbach, Fulanis, Bonedrivers, Ben Adams and other friends.
I've switched to playing mostly slide and trying to combine the blues with other vocal sounds. At the moment, I'm playing around town and beyond in a funky roots band with saxophonist Topaz called Mudphonic . We've just released our debut record "Music for Dorothy". You can buy the album here . We've been touring extensively and plan to travel farther in the months to come. See you soon!
