AUTUMN

AUTUMN is an artist circle founded in 1984. Having its roots in romantic art philosophies the aim is synthesis of the arts for attaining the expression and the evocation of timeless or fundamental feelings by combining elements of avant-garde, traditional and classical forms - the musical results are poetic, melancholic and mystic soundscapes. The group is formed by very different individuals whose individuality is flowing into the entirety of AUTUMN comparable to the different coloured leaves of the trees during that season. The paradoxical polarity of the season autumn is the guideline of the conception: like that dull but colourful season, not warm nor cold, the lyrics, compositions and pictures of the circle are filled with subliminal inconsistencies. Omnipresent is always reflection and all things considered AUTUMN aim at a certain timeless continuance. Founded during some walks in the autumnal forests in October 1984 the group’s manifesto and two years of stylistic development followed. And after its first art performance at the Tassilo Theater in Nuernberg and a period of exhibitions and further performances in various galleries, clubs and concert-halls in the 80s and 90s the circle round the founder member Thomas Buchner is now concentrating on composing and recording a serial of concept albums. >> Art is developing where this endless and restless longing for spirituality, this longing for an ideal is omnipresent.
