Born in Tortona, Italy on June 16th, Kiara is the lead singer of the symphonic rock band Skylark.
She started singing at the age of six and she performed as a solo artist and won some national competitions in Italy. She trained her voice with teachers coming from the Conservatory of Milan and Alessandria.
In late 2003, she joined Skylark and in May 2004 the album “Wings†was released featuring “When love and hate collide†a cover from Def Leppard revisited by Kiara and Skylark in an amazing acoustic version. She immediately became one of the most featured female singers on BURRN! Magazine in Japan and she also appeared in a special article dedicated to female voices with stars such as Amy Lee from Evanescence and Tarja Turunen ex Nightwish. In the same year, she started touring Italy with Skylark and in June she was in Japan for two headliner gigs in Tokyo and Osaka. Kiara was the first Italian female rock singer who played in Japan. At the end of the same year, Kiara performed “Dreamâ€, a revisited edition of “The Princess’ day†and “Mt. Fuji†a hit single dedicated to the Japanese fans, for Skylark’s Best of “In the heart of the Princessâ€.
In 2005, Kiara and Skylark supported Virgin Steele in Holland just before heading to Japan for a promotional tour. During this Japanese promo tour, Kiara participated a photo session which gave birth to a collection of trading cards for the Japanese market only. In late 2005 she came back to Japan to promote the album “Fairytales†with three gigs in Tokyo and one in Osaka. “Fairytales†became Skylark best seller in Japan.
In 2006 Kiara and Skylark concentrated on the recording session of the new album “The Last Gateâ€. This record, out in May 2007, stayed for more than one month in the Top 50 of the Japanese HMV Rock and Pop Chart, hitting position 3 only behind Bon Jovi and Dream Theater and just before artists like Paul McCartney, Velvet Revolver, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Gotthard and Kamelot.
In January 2008, Kiara played ,always with Skylark, the longest Pan China live tour of History. Kiara is the first Italian female singer who has played in China touching even Haerbin, capital of the Chinese Siberia. This tour featured seven headliner shows including Taipei (Kiara is also the first Italian female singer who has performed in Taiwan) and two brilliant supporting shows for Nightwish in Beijing and Shanghai.
In February 2008, “The Last Gate†was printed in the USA by Renaissance Records which is distributing the album in Canada and Mexico too. Thanks also to Kiara’s voice, for the first time Skylark entered the North American market as the first Italian power metal band printed in the USA.
In May 2008, Kiara and Skylark played their first USA gig in Phoenix Arizona.
In November 2008 Kiara was featured in "Darkmind" the new album of the Argentinian Beto Vazquez Infinity, which in the past featured Tarja (ex Nightwish), Candice (Blackmore's Night), Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire) and many more.
Kiara is now working for a challenging Skylark compilation where she will perform some old tracks of the band. She is also working on her first solo record.
Apart from singing, Kiara is a dancer and a model. As a dancer, she has been trained by Peter Larsen and she performed all over Italy in front of thousands of people. As a model, she worked, among the others, for Exté, Schwarzkopf and in 2005 she has been chosen by Givenchy for the Italian launch of the perfume “Very Irrésistible†that took place in Milan. She also featured some TV shows in Italy on the national channels Italia 1 and TMC (LA7).
