Through dark, we appreciate that which basks in light, Noctis believe in crafting music to feed these emotions and explore the darker feelings from which we all suffer. Noctis use dark, melodic, melancholic and emotional sounds, with lyrics about passion, dreams, death, darkness, nature and inner struggles of the mind.
Founded by guitarist Daniel and drummer Ben Mazzarol, the pair spent the last couple of years putting together a full line-up. Over time, Noctis eventually solidified their ranks, with the addition of lead vocalist/keyboardist Sam Terlick, guitarist Gavin Foo and bassist/backing vocalist Alex Canion. The group released their debut album For Future's Past through Prime Cuts.
At the end of 2007 Noctis unleashed their debut effort 'For Future's Past', just shy of 30 minutes, the collection of work spanning the best effort to date, will serve as a marker and provide a platform for the growth which will continue well into the future.
Since the beginning of 2008 the band has seen some lineup changes. Sam Terlick and Gavin Foo have left to pursue other interests and Guitarist Simone Dow and Keyboard Player Liam Kinson have now joined the ranks, along with bassist Alex Canion now taking over vocal duties. Noctis are currently in the process of recording their next album.
