The members got together around the summer of 2005 and almost immediately started playing live. They soon did lots of gigs with acts like Coheed And Cambria (US), The Draft (US), The Hard-Ons (AUS) and Samiam (US) in Dutch venues like Melkweg (Amsterdam), Tivoli (Utrecht), Bibelot (Dordrecht) and W2 (Den Bosch).
Note to Amy’s appearances didn’t stay unnoticed. The band did some demo recordings in 2006 and gained a feature in Dutch rock zine Up Magazine. Three songs were used for the MTV show 6pack. Mrs. Insane even got the band to win the Dutch title in online contest Burnout Bandslam (Electronics Arts). On top of that, the guys were praised because of their energetic live shows.
The band entered the BigMouth Studios in the spring of 2007 and recorded its first E.P. (The Lady’s First Song). The record was released in September and got raving reviews in Dutch magazines like OOR, Live XS, Aardschok and Rock Tribune. The song Tomorrow Starts Where Sorrow Ends was featured on the 2007 edition of Up Magazine..s Summer Sampler.
2009 will be all about the bands first full length album. Note to Amy is currently writing and composing and will enter the Split Second Sound studio (Textures, Autumn, New Pokerface) at the beginning June. Watch out for some of the most energetic and original hard rocking songs you’ll hear all year!
