About Me

Belinda Blair writes and records her style of ethereal, indie-rock songs from the confines her home studio, a small cottage perched on the bay just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. In an effort to have room on the tracks for vocals and lyrics to be heard, she performed, recorded, produced and engineered them using laptop, guitar, ukulele and Garageband loops. These are her first attempts at doing it all herself instead of relying on other musicians to lead the recording process. As she learns more in each recording venture, she adds new mixes onto this page and will soon be performing her material in the bay area.Belinda currently performs her solo ukulele act, DIRTY BLONDE ON UKE, covering her own versions of funk, lounge, country, vintage blues & jazz, indie rock & folk. With a keen sense of the ironic and quick-witted sarcasm, Belinda heckles her audiences, presenting tongue-in-cheek, unlikely mergings of music genres interpreted on her tenor ukulele. You can catch her on the SF Cabaret /Burlesque circuit (Little Minsky's, Vaudeville ala Mode, House of Burlesque) or at more intimate, eclectic venues (Amnesia, Make-out Room, Revolution Café) or at The Cafe at Burning Man & Burning Man events/benefits.Check out Belinda's website at www.belindablair.com to hear her jazz trio, THE BLAIR JAZZ PROJECT plus her indie rock albums with previous bands, LIFE COPIES MOVIES, THE EARTHLINGS and CAMEL QUALITY RADIO. Her swing band, JELLYROLL, can be found at www.jellyroll.net. She just got a publishing deal for her songs on Rescue Records (rescuerecords.net) under the Singer/Songwriter category. Rescue Records is part of 5 Alarm Music who license songs for tv and film.
