About Me

Combo Nuevo is a musical project created and run by pianist Aymen Ben Youssef. Unconditional fan of latin rhythms and latin jazz, Aymen forms the basic core of the group with the congero Maher Trabelsi and the singer Abderraouf Ouertani. The pianist and the singer had started to work on afro-latin musical interpretation; so the course of Combo Nuevo begins. It has been more developed with the arrival of the electrical bass ,the bongos ,and the timbales. The group scoops out from a register from the Cuban, Colombian and Puerto-Rican inspirations. The sound of the group became richer with the visit of Arnaud Meunier, trumpet player. Combo Nuevo performs currently in Tunisia.

Influences: A variety of latin musical currents : salsa, bolÃ©ro, rumba , son cubano, cha cha cha... About interpretation , the group is influenced by modern latin combos like Africando, Grupo Gale, Gran Combo... Cuban musical experiences like Buena Vista Social Club and salsa stars as Buenaventura and Joe Arroyo. The latin jazz is present as influence for the group: its members are fans of Tito puento, Michel Camilo, Giovanni Hidalgo and many others...
