A.D. has no delusions of grandeur about changing R&B. He just wants to make good music and hopefully touch the lives of fans accross the globe who can relate to his perspective.“I’m not saying I’m gonna be the savior of [R&B] or nothing, but I definitely wanna separate myself,” the Los Angeles native asserts. “I wanna take it back to the Motown days when R&B was appreciated and a real focal point in music.”Though now AD is now fully committed to his musical plight, as a child, he focused his passion on another favorite pastime—sports. A gifted athlete, he excelled in football and earned a full scolarship to CSUN. He was drafted to the Tennessee Titans in 02 to play Wide Reciever, fullfilling one of his life long dreams.“That’s where my competitive drive as well as my work ethic comes from—a sports mentality,” he acknowledges. After making the leap into the relm of proffesional football, A.D. soon descided to let one dream go only to focus all energy and time into his musical ambitions.The characteristics have only served to further his musical career, given the often hectic, cutthroat pace of the industry. Previously signed to DreamWorks Records, AD is no rookie to the game. Although his album was never released, the experience assisted in developing him as an artist and gave him keen insight into the business. Now, armed with superior talent and ambition to match, he’s ready to display his musical abilities to the masses.“I think most of the stuff you hear over and over on the radio these days, though it may be hot now, it’ll be forgotten in a year or less,” he relays matter-of-factly. “I wanna make timeless music.”Equipped with stirring, heartfelt lyrics AD is determined to leave listeners thoroughly affected by his sound. Drawing inspiration from celebrated artists like Stevie Wonder, Brian Mcknight, Phillip Bailey, Marvin Gaye and Al Green, his music is an alluring mixture of old soul mingled with innovative production and striking lyrics.
