Band Members: The Harlem Parlour Music Club began in the spring of '08 as a way to bring together musicians, songwriters and various guests in an informal recording environment with the goal of capturing complete band performances with minimal studio trickery, with the two most important factors being great songs and passionate performances. The initial recordings (Salt of the Earth) sound like an appalachian mountain band mixed with a NYC rhythm section. The group is produced by Sammy Merendino and Tim Hatfield in a Harlem townhouse built in 1892. The core band consists of Ann Klein and Andrew Carillo (guitar, banjo, dobro, and mandolin, vocals), Steve Count (electric and upright bass), Andy Burton (accordian and keyboards vocals), Allison Cornell (violin, viola and vocals), Sammy Merendino (drums),David Mansfield (Dobro, Mandolin, Violin, pedal steel) and Tim Hatfield (recordist). Also joining in on vocals is Amanda Homi and Elaine Caswell. In addition to the bands own material, guest artists Darden Smith and Mary Lee Kortez have lent their exceptional songwriting and singing skills to the band. Jeffrey Golub (Guitar, dobro) and Chris Tedesco (Violin, vocals) have also made huge contributions to the HPMC sound.
