My name is Jenna and I am the CWAV "Angel" coordinator for Wisconsin.
I don't remember my childhood or anything before high school really...so I have no way of knowing what abuse took place during that time. What I do remember is emotional and mental abuse during high school. I recall having to sit in the unfinished basement for hours at a time, scared that spiders would crawl all over me. I spent most of my time listening to music that fed my misery because I didn't have anyone to talk to and felt that I deserved to be treated like dirt. Since I didn't know how to express my feelings any other way, I started cutting to ease the pain.
When I moved out of my parents' house, I joined a group that traveled selling magazines door-to-door, along with kids who had run away from home. I was pressured into drinking and raped by one of the guys. After that, I figured it was my fault and didn't care anymore. I never thought that if I said no they would have to stop, so I just didn't try. My boundaries were non-existant therefore everyone walked all over me and I did nothing to stop them. There is quite a bit more to tell, however it would take way too long to write all of it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
There are more like me out there...lost, lonely, afraid...always wondering whether they will survive just one more day. I'm nobody special, just another person surviving in a cruel world. I've learned, over the years, that God is in control if only I give it all to Him...all the pain and fear that was controlling my life. I am now learning that I am allowed to have boundaries and I am allowed to say no. I'm a work in progress.

We need "ANGELS" in EVERY state to work with us in fundraising drives and distributing educational materials to local family planning, clinics, shelters, hospitals and other organizations
