What can I tell you about me... Well, I was born in Buffalo, NY, grew up in Jackson, TN, and moved to Murfreesboro in the late 80's to go to MTSU. I'm primarily a musician and do a lot of freelance work as a piano/keyboard player and trumpet player in Nashville and the surrounding areas, both live and in the studio. I also dabble with guitar, bass, and a few other instruments. I'm a songwriter, composer and arranger, and an absolute gear-junkie (for those of you that share this expensive affliction, I know you feel my pain).
Aside from freelance work, the main personal project I'm working on right now is an album project with a friend I've played with for years (cover bands till we were sick of it!). It's a semi-acoustic pop/rock thing, and if you had to compare it to other bands/artists (which you always do!), you could say it's a mix of John Mayer, Five For Fighting, Goo Goo Dolls, with a touch of Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos piano styles. So far I'm keeping the keyboard work a bit more grass-roots with acoustic and electric pianos, organs, and only light use of string pads. I may branch out with it as we actually get to mixdown and post-production, but so far it's been a relief to not have to deal with all the technology junk and really think about the music for a change! We're shooting for a Fall promo-EP release with the final product out by the end of the year!
The next personal project I'll be working on (already in the writing stages) is more of a modern smooth jazz thing, featuring me (of course) on trumpet. Think Chris Botti without as much of the production polish and sheen...
