About Me

GRAVEL RIDGE LIONS CLUBIn 2001 a Lions Club was charted in Gravel Ridge, Ar and from the very beginning this club has continued to provide help and assistance to members of this community, as well as those in need in surrounding communities. The Club has provided eye care to dozens of people who were in need of help, a cornea transplant to a Sherwood resident, cataract surgery for a local citizen, and has assisted many residents by providing coats in winter, and food to several others in our community, as well as to the tornado victims in Dumas, Ar, and flood victims in England, Ar.Our current project is replacing the playground at the Arkansas School for the Blind, in Little Rock, Arkansas. The playground is over twenty five years old and is beyond repair and the children can not use any part of it due to the current state of disrepair. The Gravel Ridge Lions Club is constantly looking for individuals that would like to be involved in helping out in their community and can give up two or three hours a month. The rewards for the time spent helping out are too numerous to list here, but you are given the opportunity to see how your work impacts the lives of many who just need a helping hand. We don’t wear a big sign on our chest, but we do wear a small Lions Pin that identifies that we are Lions and that our motto, WE SERVE, is alive and well in Gravel Ridge. For more information please contact one of the following Gravel Ridge Lions Club members: Bobby McMillion, President-501-749-1289: Sandra Brown, Secretary-501-749-9466: Don Hughes, Treasurer, 501-681-2444. Donations of either money or labor will be greatly appreciated.
