Corey is a sure crowd pleaser right from the start of the show. Growing up in a small suburb in Massachusetts called Milton, allowed him to bring a taste of Surburbia mixed with what he likes to call "Urbia" to the stage. He is referred to as funny, endearing, edgy, quick and exceptionally likeable when he is on the stage. As a Host or a Feature act he owns the crowd. His fast rise and impact on the Boston comedy scene was of no suprise seeing that Corey has always been a performer and a crowd pleaser. Since a very early age he's had the ability to impersonate almost any voice he has heard in just a short period of time. Whenever family members would gather they would always encourage him to stand up in front of everybody and imitate each of them. This didn't stop at home he would often startle many of the children at school by imitating a teacher or principal's voice in the hallways and in the classroom. Sometimes even calling other students houses, as the principal and getting them into trouble for things they hadn't done. ( shhh.. they still don't know this)Within Mr. Rodrigues's first year of performing stand up he was offered his own show at Boston's well known Beantown Comedy Vault. Here is where Corey started Wicked Wednesday nights providing him a venu to hone his hosting as well as featuring skills. In just his second year of performing he was the winner of the world famous Catch a Rising Star comedy clubs, Catch a New Rising Star comedy competition. Corey credits his fast rise in stand up comedy to his "no holds barred" training provided by Boston's gem, The Improv Asylum. From there going on to be a part of his own short form improv troupe called Flaming Awesome. This is why much of his stand up he enjoys showing you and not telling you what is going on. Corey has appeared on Comcast cable via commercials and stand up. He has also used his comedy to raise money for Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund. He has opened for National Headliners such as: Tony Rock, Nick Dipaolo and Jimmy Dohr and Big Jay Oakerson and has shared the stage with many others such as: Joe Koy, Gary Gulman, Steve Sweeney and Frank Santorelli. Colleges have always had a soft spot in his heart and in recent months Corey has been performing on College Campuses and telling them just how lucky they are to be there and how jealous he is that he's not. The Corey Rodrigues show is truly a joy for family, friends, couples, singles, animals, vegetables, etc. to enjoy.
