A Midnight White

About Me

PAST: A Midnight White was formed in August, 2005.
With the addition of Mario De La Torre as head vocalist, the five piece
began writing music. After several months, the band recorded a
4 song demo at Love Juice Labratories in Riverside, California.
As the band progressed as musicians, each member began to discover
that music is best created from the depths of their imagination.
In this period of self-discovery, the band realized their personal niche
within the realm of music. In late 2007, the band reached final form when
Sergio De La Torre, younger brother of vocalist, joined the band.
With this new format, the band returned to the studio and recorded a
6 song EP entitled “Smile Burn Love and Learn.” At this point,
A Midnight White quotes that they feel as if
they have "evolved from Squirtle to Wartortle.”
PRESENT: Currently, A Midnight White has returned to the writing process.
While writing new songs, the band also is re-evaluating their
past songs to mold them into the band they are today.
“Although we are proud to be at this Wartortle stage,
we are eager for Blastoise.”
FUTURE: In the future, A Midnight White hopes to reach their personal
enlightenment on their progressive journey. Each individual member,
as well as the band as a whole, hopes to produce something that they can
call their own upon releasing their freshman full-length album.
More tangibly, A Midnight White is planning to embark upon a Summer Tour
after this release. Spanning across many states and many different areas,
the band hopes to meet new friends, and most importantly,
to have fun while making a mark on the earth.

Smile Burn Love and Learn
A Midnight White
Self-released EP

By Kenneth Morton (Highwire Daze Magazine)
A Midnight White from the San Gabriel Valley area is a young collective that has been around for a few years now, playing shows and generally doing the proverbial “paying their dues” thing within the local music scene. Their self-released debut EP Smile Burn Love and Learn has been unleashed at last, and judging by what’s heard, these guys should be well on their way to a recording contract. Not sticking with any particular genre yet coming up with a dynamic sound that is distinctive, A Midnight White is sure to be around with challenging music for years to come. Influences range from Circa Survive, Chiodos, and even Norma Jean- the comparisons being that A Midnight White is surely as imaginative as the aforementioned bands. Forgoing their own path in the so-called post hardcore genre, songs such as Dinner at the Hilton and Lethologica demonstrate just how talented and resourceful the membership of A Midnight White can be. Smile Burn Love and Learn is a definite stab at the big time, and judging by the effort and conviction placed within the 6 featured tracks, we’ll be hearing a lot more from this band in the near future.
