Bla

Bla was founded by Balazs Kaposi, Zoltan Horvai and Robert Etropolsky in 1999 at the Janos Hunfalvy high-school in Budapest. The band, influenced by the highly contagious rock epidemic effecting many teenagers first played mostly covers by the best of the '90s (such as Rage Against the Machine, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana just to name a few). After a succession of coincident the founding threesome called upon Aron Nerei (alias Roni) to stand behind the mic, accepting Roni remained there for years to come. After recording a demo, this besides quality also lacked the existence of definable genre of any sort. Also the band had to realize that its rock/hc songs didn't meet up to their own and others expectations, especially if we take into consideration the major underground bands of the time (Subscribe, P.O.T.). Bristol's trip-hop snuck its way into the band in the form of a Portishead single, and slowly but surely captured band. In 2003 Bla decided to give its first seated concert on the International Buda Stage to pay homage to the more mellow music they admired. Completed by a female vocal, strings, piano and brass ensemble the concert was a success and so the formation decided to move forward in this direction.With a Best Of IBS demo the band was able to land gigs at many major Hungarian summer festivals such as Sziget (2004, 2005), EFOTT (2004, 2005), Szin (2004), have played at most Budapest clubs. In 2005 Bla started to record their first "album", so far 7 songs have been recorded.Replacing Roni in 2006 Kati Nagy of 6 Test joined the band on vocals.
