About Me

First off, thanks for you're interest in my page! My name is Luke Stanley. I was born on February 3 1984 in Indiana. Growing up I was always a music lover. My Dad plays guitar, my Mom used to play flute. There was always music in my house growing up. I am told that as a toddler I was addicted to MTV! I started goofing around making noise on a guitar when I was 5, at 7 I started lessons and that is when I really started playing. I was never into the grunge and Seattle stuff. I preferred to listen to older music like Van Halen and was and still am a huge Pink Floyd fan! I was 9 when I started doing the occasional gig with my Dad doing covers and some of his originals. It was around this time that I started getting into Metal/Shred guitar, which is still my genre of choice. I continued to play through most of my youth, working on stuff I liked and not what was in style! In the mid to late 90's "shredder" was a bad word! Anyway, I am going at this thing full force. I will jam with just about anybody as long as it's loud! Or if they offer me money. Lately I have been working on a instrumental CD with an absolutely kick ass band and producer! Aaron Ransdell of (Tonos Triad, Jon Strahl Band) on bass. Drum duties are assumed by Sean Young, drummer of local and national metal band (MercyKill)! Scott Bronner, also of (MercyKill, Demiricous) fame is producing/engineering the entire project at Wookie Tracks Studios, for an old school, no pro tools sound! In the mean time I have released 5 tracks of demos that are posted above. Enjoy Luke Stanley playing a TRILLIUM AMP and PEDALBOARD

I made my layout with the Myspace Background Maker . Get myspace layouts , graphics , and flash toys at pYzam .

Influences: I have many musical influences. The ones that have had the most direct effect on me are my dad, Bob Stanley, also my guitar instructor Bryan Headrick who has given me lessons on and off since I was 7 years old. Other influences are Edward Van Halen,David Gilmour,George Lynch,My girlfriend/fanclub president Michelle Delecki, and Yngwie J (Still owes me $20 refund for being 2 hrs late getting onstage!) Malmsteen. I learned from that, that punctuality is important. My friends that have decided to stand by me through all the crap this year! They influence me very much with all the support for my playing and what I choose to do!
Sounds Like: Strings being plucked by a plectrum, therefore putting the string in motion while spinning over a magnet. The magnet then transfers this to a coil of copper windings, thus making a small signal sent through a potentiometer than out a jack to through a lead to an amp or an amp like device. I use this technique whenever I play electric guitar, believe it or not.
