I ain't asking for nothing unless I get it on my own! Charlie Daniels

About Me

I lived in Boulder Colorado for 4 years while I attended the University of Colorado and I can say that I identify and love the lifestyle of outdoor adventures, snowboarding, and playing endlessly in the snow. I moved back to Atlanta and after a few years of the repititon of the business world, I went back to school to pursue nursing and I am now working in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit at Emory University Hospital. In my world, there is nothing better or satisfying to me than being able to impact the quality of life for a stranger who places their trust and their life in your hands. My friends would describe me as a kind and thoughtful person who will step up to help a friend in a jam. I also believe that in the end all one has is their name and their word and all else is trivial. Most of the time, I feel part gypsy as I have the urge to travel and be on the "go" as much as I can. I find that I can just "pick up and go" when I want and where I want. I like to go out for a good burger and beer at the local pub, or get my dancing shoes on and jam to some latin, blues, jazz or 80's rock tunes. Yes, I will admit I like the occasional 80's rock tune.I plan to move back to Colorado in September. An ideal situation would be to become a snowchick on the slopes with fresh powder and the wind blowing in your face.

My Interests

Snowboarding, snow, more snow, camping, did I say snow, having a good beer, listening to some good music, and traveling.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet people who are outgoing and energetic who are willing to try new things and go to new places. As I plan of moving back to Colorado, those who are in Colorado hit me up. I enjoy the company of those who are open to thought provoking conversations and who do not get uptight or too emotionally charged. Traveling to new places and having new adventures are a few of my passions. It would be great to find some travel partners who feel the same. Let me say humor is very important to me as well as those who are humble and come from humble backgrounds. I will say that I lack interest in those who e-mail me wanting to strangle me for the night. So if you are into ropes around the neck, I am not your gal.

Music:

I am not the biggest pop, country or rap fan. I am more of a Rolling Stones, Steve Miller band kind of girl. Nine Inch Nails, Beck, Rage Against the Machine are also some groups on the extreme that I listen to. But, there is nothing better than blues, jazz and bluegrass.

Movies:

Dr. Strangelove Or: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. The Red Violin, The Jerk, Blazing Saddles, Any Mel Brooks film, Enemy at the Gates, Saving Private Ryan, Caddyshack, Best in Show, Spies Like Us, Under the Tuscan Sun, The Lord of the Rings, Girl With A Pearl Earing.

Television:

Frontline, House, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Family Guy, Nip Tuck, Six Feet Under, Rome.

Books:

Green Eggs and Ham- the best sales book ever written, D-Day, Undaunted Courage(both by Stephen Ambrose), And The Band Played On, and of course for the past 10 years of my life I have been nose deep into text books.

Heroes:

Theodore Roosevelt, my Grandfather- a WWII POW and the best man I knew besides my father.

Jelly fish

I went to the new Ga Aquarium today and for some reason had a brand new respect for jelly fish.  I was just watching them float in the water ever so gracefully.  I thought, wouldn't it be am...
